Sweden February 2017

Image result for bmw 330e

BMW joins the Grown ups table

We start the month with Sweden, which registered 1.175 units, a 90% improvement over the same period last year, with the EV Share down to 4.7%, down from the historic 5.3% of January, but still more than 1% over the 2016 result.

Looking at the models ranking, the VW Passat GTE is back at cruise speed, with 361 units, a 72% improvement YoY.

The other model to surpass the 100 units barrier was the Outlander PHEV, with 232 units, distancing itself from the #3 Volvo V60 Plug-in.

There were a few changes in the ranking regarding the previous month, with the BMW 330e (84 units, new personal best) jumping five positions to Fourth Place, while the VW Golf GTE climbed to #12, after recovering from a dismal start of the year, while the Mercedes GLC350e is now #16, thanks to a record 17 units delivered, it looks Mercedes has finally started to pump out units in enough quantity to meet demand and avoid those 4 to 6 months waiting periods...

On the EV manufacturers ranking, Volkswagen (41%) has the market covered, with Mitsubishi (15%) climbing to the runner-up place, while BMW (12%) joined the ranking, kicking Volvo (11%) outside the ranking.

Combining February sales of regular hybrids with plug-ins, the VW Passat GTE continues in the lead, outselling regular hybrids, with the Toyota Auris Hybrid dropping to Second Place, closely followed by the trendy CH-R Hybrid, a model that has been well received across the Old World, although at a cost of some cannibalization within other Toyota hybrids.

The other PHEV in the ranking, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, ended in Fourth, with 232 units, pushing the Kia Niro down to Fifth, with 217 units.
